Living in Deer Valley for 15 years has given me a valuable insight into our community and the issues facing it. My two children were raised in Deer Valley, and both graduated from DVUSD schools. I graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Business Management. My professional background includes project management with the Department of Child Support Enforcement, and Business Brokerage with Sunbelt Realty and Business Advisors, LLC.
Commitment and dedication to resolve local issues is vital to our community. In 2016, the Arizona Department of Corrections (DOC) renovated a facility next to Adobe Mountain School for its re-entry center. My running mate, Julie Read, and I teamed up to advocate for change in North Phoenix by starting a community group. BlockWatch Phoenix North now has over 7,000 members. We fought tirelessly to succeed in our mission to stop the DOC from placing homeless sex offenders near our community, home and children. To prevent this from happening again, I helped draft three bills that were signed into law during the 2017 legislative session. The Phoenix City Council approved my appointment to the Deer Valley Village Planning Commission in November 2017.
In 2014, the voters elected me to the Deer Valley School Board. Now, I’m running for reelection. The Deer Valley community should have a candidate who is committed to ensuring our students are provided with the best foundation possible. Deer Valley schools need top-of-the-line academic programs, along with the arts, athletics, and extra-curricular opportunities to enable students to succeed in a competitive world beyond high school. Decisions should be made only after consulting with parents, teachers and the community. My voting record exhibits my belief that children deserve a high-quality education, and taxpayers should have their hard-earned dollars spent as effectively and efficiently as possible.
